Ten years ago, I spent just one session with a friend trying out a new 'tapping' technique that I had recently been trained in. The aim was to transform negative emotional states into a more positive and peaceful sense of wellbeing.


Emily, a friend of mine, had a crippling spider phobia that had plagued her for years. She experienced physical and mental discomfort every time she encountered even an image of a spider, let alone a live one. She was also growing increasingly anxious about 'passing it on' to her own daughter.


That evening, we worked through the algorithms for her phobia, and within minutes, she began responding. It seemed that tapping had enabled Emily to be free of her arachnophobia. She couldn't believe that by tapping on specific points on her body in a particular order, a lifetime of fear and trauma attached to these creatures could dissipate.


Life has a funny way of testing us, and a few days later, Emily texted me to say that a spider had scuttled across her stairs and had planted itself on her landing. Emily calmly took a glass, placed it over the spider, slid a piece of paper underneath, and then deposited the spider outside. She did not enjoy the experience and will probably never like spiders, but by dealing with this intruder, she proved that her phobia no longer needed to interfere with her daily routine.


This outcome fuelled and encouraged my belief that tapping the meridian energy system and applying Thought Field Therapy would prove to be a highly effective approach towards enhancing emotional wellbeing.


The world was a different place back then, with far less awareness around the importance of addressing mental health and the need to offer proactive pathways towards supporting wellbeing issues.


Since then, I have treated people for countless issues, including phobias such as fear of water, bridges, and flying. I have also helped individuals overcome post-traumatic stress, flashbacks, quit smoking, achieve weight loss, and manage anxiety, stress, depression, sadness, and grief.


I feel strongly that in our current climate, there is a great need to find solutions that can offer quicker recovery and greater resilience in the face of challenging times.

Thought Field Therapy
